Pair caught after Western Manitoba mini crime-spree

Two Brandon men in their 20s are in custody for a number theft-related crimes on Saturday April 6, 2019.

Police say the pair are allegedly responsible for a number of vehicle break-ins in the Kemnay area after stealing a truck in Brandon. The pair allegedly stole a number of items from vehicles then drove to Rivers and used a stolen credit card.

Rivers Police contacted Brandon Police Service and provided them a detailed description of the vehicle involved.

Not 15 minutes later officers on patrol in Brandon conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle near 1st St and Braecrest Drive.

The two suspects were arrested and charged with Theft of Vehicle, Possession of Property obtained by Crime x 3, Prohibited Driving. Police say other charges will be laid against the pair for the use of the stolen credit cards in Rivers.
