Brandon Police must be shaking their head over what they are describing as a “mini-theft spree”.
On Thursday August 2, 2018 officers responded to an altercation between two men in the 600 block of Rosser Avenue. It turns out that the owner of a vehicle had confronted a 22-year-old thief who had stolen items from his vehicle a few hours before then returned and tried to steal more. Police arrested the suspect and charged him with theft. He was then released.
Two hours after his arrest he was back at it. Just before 4:00 pm an employee at Superstore caught the thief attempting to steal more than $200 worth of merchandise. Police arrived and for the second time placed the male in custody. Further investigation determined that the suspect already had a court order baring him from Superstore.
He was detained this time and got to spend some time in Brandon Correctional Centre before heading to court on Friday morning.
