Three people suffered injuries after an 18-year-old driver slammed his vehicle into the back of a pickup truck on Road 33 West in the RM of Stanley.
According to police, the young adult driver of the car was texting and driving when the collision occurred.
It happened on Monday, October 2, 2017. Investigators say that a pickup truck was parked on the side of the road and two people were attempting to capture a donkey that had previously escaped its pen. As they returned to the truck they noticed a speeding northbound vehicle.

The driver of the truck tried unsuccessfully to get the other vehicle drivers attention so that he would slow down. Due to the texting and driving, the distracted driver slammed into the back of the pickup causing the truck to swing and hit the passenger who was still outside the truck. The impact sent the passenger flying into the ditch.

The pickups 17-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries . The driver of the pickup aged 47 from Mordon also suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the car from the RM of Stanley suffered minor injuries.
RCMP say that the 18 year old driver of the car was also driving with a suspended licence. He has been charged with a number of offences
RCMP continue to investigate the collision.
