7 vehicles stolen in just over a month

A 17 year old male and a 16 year old female are facing a number of charges relating to the theft of seven vehicles from car dealerships across the city.  

It started in late December of 2016 and the  Winnipeg Police Stolen Auto Unit began investigating a series of thefts.

On Thursday, February 2, 2017 officers found two suspects in a stolen vehicle around Magnus an Salter. Police busted one of the suspects on scene but the other took off and was caught nearby after a short foot chase.

The male suspect has been charged with Theft of Motor Vehicle x 7, Possess Goods Obtained by Crime, Possess Prohibited Weapon, Resist/Obstruct Peace Officer, and ten breaches of court orders.

He was detained in custody.

The female suspect faces Theft of Motor Vehicle x 5 plus other related offences and was released on a promise to appear.
