RCMP say that a 17-year-old male from Portage la Prairie is facing a number of firearm related charges after he allegedly pointed a gun at people and shot at one occupied vehicle.
Officers were called to the area around Lorne Avenue West and 8th Street NW around 9:00 pm Monday night, October 12, 2020 for reports of gunshots and a person walking around the area with a gun.
Police located the suspect around 9:30 pm and placed him under arrest. The gun was located nearby.
No one was injured in the incident say officers.
The teen faces charges including Possession of a Prohibited Firearm, Possession for a Purpose Dangerous to the Public Peace, three counts of Point Firearm, Intentionally Discharge a Firearm, and Discharge a Firearm with Intent to Endanger Life.
He was detained in custody as the investigation continues.
