Winnipeg Police have arrested an charged a 15-year-old male for obstructing a police officer.
Just after midnight Sunday morning, August 27, 2017, officers were travelling south in the 100 block of Archibald as they responded to a high-priority call. Their emergency lights and siren were on at the time.
The youth, as police approached, began to throw traffic pylons from a construction zone into the path of the police car causing the driver to have to swerve to avoid a collision. As the officers stopped the youth dropped a machete and tried to take off on a bicycle.
The youth was arrested shortly afterwards and now faces two charges for his alleged involvement, possession of a weapon as well as the obstruct police officer charge.
He was held in custody.
