Teen Stabbed During Argument

Winnipeg Police Service is investigating an fight between two groups of teens that ended in a stabbing of a 14-year-old boy.

On June 4, 2023, police say two groups of youths were riding a Winnipeg Transit bus from St. James when a verbal dispute occurred. When the bus reached Marbury Road and Jefferson Avenue both groups got off. Once off the bus the dispute escalated to a physical assault. One of the suspects pulled a knife and stabbed the victim in the upper body. The victim suffered significant injuries and was taken to the hospital in stable condition. The extent of the injuries will require an additional surgery to repair.

The Major Crimes unit is investigating the assault and needs help in identifying the suspect involved in the stabbing. Anyone with information or video footage of the assault or the events leading to it are asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-8477.
