A teen who was stabbed downtown on Friday, September 22, 2023, underwent emergency surgery to repair serious injuries to his upper body.

Officers were called to the area of Carlton Street and Portage Avenue around 11:30 pm and located a 14-year-old boy suffering injuries caused by a stabbing. Police provided emergency medical care and applied a chest seal and tourniquet before paramedics arrived on the scene. The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition and upgraded to stable.

The suspects fled the area before police arrived.
