Teen Seriously Injured in Olive Garden Stabbing Attack

Winnipeg Police have a 27-year-old man in custody after he allegedly attacked and 18-year-old woman in Olive Garden on Reenders Drive on Thursday evening, June 8, 2023.

Police say that the attacker had been in the restaurant for about an hour as a customer. Without any warning, the suspect approached the victim and repeatedly stabbed her in the upper body before fleeing the restaurant. The victim suffered severe injuries. The victim is an employee at the restaurant.

When police arrived on the scene the teen was being given emergency medical help from bystanders. The victim was taken to hospital in unstable condition but has since been upgraded to stable.

Officers patrolled the area and quickly found the suspect in the 1500 block of Regent Avenue. He was arrested after a brief struggle with police. A knife was found on his person and seized as evidence.

Investigators say that the suspect and victim did not know each other and the attack was random and unprovoked.

Robert Alan Ingram, 27, has been charged for his alleged involvement with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon and Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

He remains in custody.

Police continue to investigate.
