Two teens and a youth were arrested following a serious assault on a teen in the 100 block of Ellen Street on Thursday, June 9, 2022.
According to police a passerby by contacted them about the assault and Air-1 was quickly dispatched and witnessed the victim being kicked in the head by the suspects. The WPS eye in the sky quickly coordinated ground unit to the victim’s location in a school field and to the three suspects near McDermott Avenue And Frances Street.
The teen who was assaulted was taken to hospital with serious injuries to her upper body in stable condition.
All three female suspects were taken into custody. Officers found a knife and drugs during the arrests.
Aggravated Assault charges were laid against a 12-year-old female and a 15-year-old female for their alleged involvement. They were both released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code of Canada.
A 13-year-old female has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Possess a Weapon, Possession of a Scheduled Substance (Methamphetamine) and Possession of a Schedule Substance (Fentanyl)
She was detained in custody at a youth facility.
