Winnipeg Police have arrested and charged a 16-year-old male in connection to the April 18, 2019, homicide near the rail line in the 1000 block of Selkirk Avenue.
Police have identified the victim as 53-year-old Joselito Fernandez from Winnipeg.
Investigators believe that Fernandez was walking along the rail line when he was confronted by the teen at gunpoint.
Police say that the youth shot Fernandez and robbed him before fleeing.
On April 26, 2019, the suspect was taken into custody near Redwood Avenue and Battery Street.
The youth has been charged with Second Degree Murder, Fail to Comply with Probation Order, Possession of Firearm.
He was detained in custody.
