Teen facing criminal charges after robbing the same store five times

A 13-year-old male is facing more than a dozen criminal charges after he allegedly robbed a Dakota Street business five times over an eight month period.

Police say that the teen began his crime spree on August 9, 2021 when he went to the store with a knife in his waistband and stole cash before fleeing.

On November 22, 2021, he went to the store, this time brandishing a knife and again stole money. Three days later, on November 25, he returned to the store and again brandishing a knife stole cash but this time he held a female employee with a knife to he throat during the robbery. The employee was not hurt.

On December 7, 2021, the teen once again went to the store while armed with a knife and demanded money. The employee refused. The suspect threw merchandise at the clerk then fled.

On April 7, 2022, the suspect entered the store and ran towards the female employee with a knife in his hand. He pulled her to the ground and threatened to stab her. The suspect stole cash before fleeing. The victim was not injured. Officers responding to the robbery were able to locate the suspect at a nearby residence and took him into custody.

The teen has been charged with five counts of Robbery, Five Counts of Possession of a Weapon, Three Counts of Assault with a Weapon and Uttering threats-Cause Death or Bodily Harm.

The accused remains in custody.
