A 14-year-old boy was taken into custody for allegedly stabbing an adult male and threatening a female at knife point.

Around 3:15 am on Thursday, October 7, 2021 police found an adult male suffering from stab wounds in the Central Park area after responding to reports of a woman screaming in the area. Officers administered first-aid until paramedics arrived and transported the victim to the hospital in critical condition. The victim has since stabilized and has been upgraded to stable.

Officers found an adult female in the area who had been with the male victim when he was attacked. She told officers she had been threatened at knifepoint during the ordeal. Police believe the pair had been with a group of people when a fight broke out.

Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued to investigate and were able to identify a suspect.

Officers located the 14-year-old suspect at a residence in the Spence neighbourhood. He has been charged for his alleged involvement with Aggravated Assault and Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm.

The teen was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
