A-16-year-old male is dead after the vehicle he was driving lost control and hit a hydro pole.

Police say the collision happened around 1:50 am Sunday morning, March 15, 2020 at the intersection of Provincial Road 306 and Municipal Road 12N.

The teen from Schanzenfeld was westbound on Municipal Road 12N when his vehicle entered a ditch and collided with the hydro pole.

The victim was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other males in the vehicle an 18-year-old male and a 17-year-old male were both wearing seatbelts and suffered only minor injuries. The 18-year-old was taken to hospital the other male was treated and released at the scene.

Police believe alcohol played a factor in the collision.

The investigation continues.
