Winnipeg Police have charged a 13-year-old male in connection to a stabbing on Friday, February 26, 2021.
Police had responded to an Isabel Street business around 3:50 am after a 41-year-old male had been stabbed. The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Investigators took a youth into custody shortly after the stabbing at a home in the West Alexander area.
As the investigation unfolded officers learned that the teen had entered the convenience store without wearing a face mask as required by public health orders. When he was asked to put one on the accused became upset and stabbed the employee. Police say the stabbing was unprovoked.
The teen has been charged for his alleged involvement with Assault with a Weapon and Aggravated Assault. He was detained in custody.
