Gift card stealing teen facing fraud charges in Morden

Morden Police Service has arrested a 19-year-old employee of a local business after he was caught allegedly stealing gift cards.

Police say that on October 18, 2019, officers were told that the employee took the gift cards then added credit to the cards fraudulently. Staff at the business caught the culprit and terminated their employment.

An investigation into the theft led police to uncover that the teen had been stealing gift cards for months and had fraudulently added more than $60,000 in total to the cards that had been stolen.

The accused from the RM of Stanley was arrested and charged for their alleged involvement with Fraudulently Obtaining Credit and will be appearing in Morden Provincial court this month.
