Teen arrested for alleged involvement in two machete assaults

Winnipeg police have a 15-year-old male in custody after he allegedly assaulted two males in separate incidents within 30 minutes of each other.

Between 7-8:00 pm on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, officers were first called to an assault near Mountain Avenue and Aikins Street. A teenage victim was located suffering from serious injuries. He was taken to hospital in unstable condition but is now in stable condition.

The second incident occurred in the 100 block of Gary Street in the parking lot of the Fort Gary Hotel. The second teenage male victim was located by responding officers and taken to hospital in unstable condition but has since been upgraded to stable.

Police believe that the victims and the assailant knew each other prior to the attacks.

Police have arrested and charged the accused for his alleged involvement with Aggravated Assault, Assault with a Weapon, two counts of Possession of a Weapon and three counts of Fail to Comply with a Release Order.
