Teen Arrested at Kildonan Place Mall for Possession of 3D-Printed Handgun

On December 21, 2024, at approximately 2:56 p.m., officers from the East District Community Support Unit, assigned to Safe Shop duties at Kildonan Place Mall, were approached by security personnel for assistance in removing several males causing a disturbance.

During the removal process, officers noticed irregular shapes in the clothing of one of the males, prompting a search for officer safety. The search revealed a loaded 3D-printed 9mm Glock-style handgun with a polymer slide and a magazine containing three rounds of ammunition. The male was arrested without incident, and the firearm and magazine were seized as evidence.

A 15-year-old male from Winnipeg now faces multiple charges for his alleged involvement, including:

  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon, Firearm Part or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Carry Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Fail to Comply with Condition of Undertaking

The teenager was detained in custody.
