A 16-year-old male was taken into custody and charged after he allegedly robbed and assaulted a woman in her 20s.

Police say that around 8:15 pm on Sunday, March 19, 2023, a woman was walking in the 400 block of Prichard Avenue when she was approached by a male demanding money. The victim saw that male was armed with a machete and bear spray in the waistband of his pants and handed over her cash. As the suspect fled to a nearby residence he punched the victim in the face causing minor injuries.

Police located the suspect in the home he had fled to and placed him under arrest.

The teen has been charged with Robbery and two counts of Failing to Comply with Release Order.
