A 59-year-old man who worked a a teacher in Manitoba for the last fifteen years has been arrested and charged for his alleged involvement in possessing and accessing child pornography.

The Winnipeg Polce Service’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) were alerted in January 2023 that child sexual abue imagery had been uploaded to an IP address within the City of Winnipeg.

Investigators identified a suspect and a home associated with the IP address and executed a search warrant on July 5. Officers found child sexual abuse images during the search and seized several electronic storage devices.

According to police the suspect had worked as a teacher at several school divisions in Winnipeg and around the province.

Alan Lindsay Veness has been charged for his alleged involvement with Possession of Child Pornography and Accesing Child Pornography. He was released on a Release Order as mandated by the Criminal Code of Canada.
