Emergency crews were called to Ness Avenue at Ferry Road around 3:05 am.  When they arrived they found a tanker in the westbound lanes that had been rear-ended by an SUV.

Traffic was closed in both directions for about three hours as crews worked to separate the vehicles and clean up the scene.

The tanker did not appear to be leaking but fluids from the SUV had leaked onto the roadway.
