Suspicious vehicle check leads to property and weapon offences

Two people are in custody after RCMP received a report of a suspicious vehicle at a rural property in the RM of Lakeshore on July 31, 2022.

Ste Rose du Lac RCMP responded to the call and found a vehicle stuck in the mud. The two people in the vehicle fled on foot but officers qufcklycaptured them. The vehicle had been stolen from Dauphin a few days earlier. Officers found drugs and several weapons inside the vehicle along with other property they believed was stolen.

33-year-old Jill Johnson of Winnipeg and 28-year-old Curtis Pruden of Dauphin were charged for their alleged involvement with Resisting Arrest, weapons offences and several counts of Failing to Comply.

The investigation is continuing.
