Suspicious package at UPS in Winnipeg prompts police to shut down roadways.

Traffic was stopped in both directions on Route 90 and Dublin Avenue on Thursday morning, March 5, 2020 after a suspicious package was found at the UPS depot.

Road closures in the area of King Edward and Dublin are now expanded. Dublin is now closed between Border and Sherwin Road. King Edward is closed from Saskatchewan to Notre Dame.

UPS confirmed the incident was at their facility and as a precaution evacuated their employees and called police around 11:00 am.

Police patrol units diverted traffic as officers determined if the package was indeed a threat. After close to an hour the package was determined to be safe.

Police have not released any other information about the investigation.
