Suspicious Fire on Hudson St.
Fire crews responded around 1:00 am Friday to a large fire that significantly damaged a duplex at 329 Hudson Street in Ft. Garry.
According to Platoon Chief Doug Martin the fire started in the garage and quickly spread to the house. Firefighters had a difficult time entering the home due to a large volume of junk and had to attack the fire through the roof. Martin said that men and equipment were called in from multiple stations
Members of the WFPS Arson unit were also on site gathering evidence and speaking with witnesses.
One neighbour told News4 that a teen was seen running from the backlane just prior to the fire.
Damage has been estimated at $500,000. The investigation continues.
