Winnipeg Police have two males and one female in custody after they slammed a stolen vehicle into a police cruiser early Monday morning, October 14, 2019.
Police say that officers spotted a stolen vehicle in the east side of the exchange district around 4:15 am and followed it over the Disraeli Bridge into a parking lot on Talbot Avenue.
When the emergency lights were activated and police tried to make a traffic stop the female driver of the vehicle reversed into the police cruiser. The collision caused significant damage to both vehicles. She then accelerated and drove towards officers as they approached the vehicle. After narrowly missing them the driver collided with a fence disabling the vehicle.
All three suspects in the vehicle tried to get away on foot but were quickly arrested. Police say that one of the male suspects had to be tased in order for him to be brought into custody.
Who police searched the stolen vehicle they found a zip gun, Meth and stolen property from a home in East St. Paul.
The drive of the vehicle is facing 19 charges for her alleged involvement. The two other male passengers in the vehicle are facing a number of weapon and property offences.
All three suspects were detained in custody.
