Winnipeg Police released information on a break-in case that some say may be just be Karma.
On Saturday evening, October 30, 2021, police were called to a vacant home in the 500 block of Stella Avenue after receiving a report that two unknown men had broken into the residence and were attempting to steal a furnace. Callers also reported that natural gas could be smelled outside the structure.
When officers arrived they also could smell gas and looking into the building they spotted the two men who appeared to be unresponsive. The officers entered the house and pulled the men to safety outside. It appears the suspects had been overcome by the gas when the gas feed to the furnace became dislodged and began to leak.
Manitoba Hydro was called in and repaired the leak
Police say the two men in their forties were detained and later released without charges.
