Suspect wanted in Dauphin murder captured in Whitehorse

Whitehorse RCMP have arrested a 23-year-old male wanted on a Canada-wide warrant in connection to a Dauphin on Saturday, August 15, 2020.

Police were called to a 7th Avenue SE home in Dauphin for the report of a stabbing. When officers arrived they found one man dead and learned a second victim had been injured and made his way to hospital.

Investigators identified Nicholas Ryan-McKinnon as a suspect in the case.

Manitoba RCMP contacted Whitehorse RCMP after they learned that Ryan-McKinnon was headed towards the Yukon community.

On August 19, 2020, Whitehorse Major Crime Unit and Crime Reduction Unit located Ryan-McKinnon and placed him under arrest.

Police say they are in the process of transporting the suspect back to Manitoba so he can face the charges of Second Degree Murder and Aggravated Assault for his alleged involvement.
