Suspect wanted in connection to an armed bank robbery

Winnipeg Police are searching for a 37-year-old suspect in connection to an October 20, 2021, armed robbery at a financial institution in the 1300 block of McPhillips Street.

Police say that a male walked into the building armed with what appeared to be a handgun. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash the suspect fled in a waiting vehicle. No injuries were reported during the robbery.

WPS Major Crimes investigators were able to identify and track down one of the suspects taking him into custody on November 1.

31-year-old Travis Kenneth William Sadowy was charged for his alleged involvement with Armed Robbery with a Firearm and Drive Suspended.

Investigators have identified the second male suspect as John Raven Ward. An arrest warrant has been issued for robbery-related and firearms offences. He is also wanted on a second warrant for being unlawfully at large.

Police say ward must not be approached. Anyone with information on where he is located is asked to call (204) 986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-8477.
