Suspect sprays officer with bear spray in an attempt to avoid arrest

A-19-year-old male is behind bars and is facing several new charges along with seven outstanding warrants after attempting to flee from police.

Early Sunday morning, November 21, 2021, RCMP in Flin Flon learned that a male suspect wanted on several outstanding warrants was seen walking along Third Avenue in the City of Flin Flon.

Officers patrolled the area and located the suspect along with two other people. When police approached the group the suspect took off and a foot pursuit began. As he was running from police the suspect shot bear spray at an officer. The suspect was arrested a short time later.

Nathaniel Linklater was charged along with his outstanding warrants with Assault Police Officer With a Weapon, Possess Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Resisting Arrest, three counts of Fail to Comply and Administer Noxious Substance

Linklater was detained in custody.
