RCMP have arrested and charged a 28-year-old man in connection to an ongoing investigation into firearms and drugs.
On March 15, 2023, officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a suspect vehicle on Highway 7. The vehicle refused to stop and fled southbound toward Winnipeg. Police successfully deployed a spike belt causing all for tires to deflate. The driver continued driving on the damaged tires and while attempting a sharp turn the vehicle went off the road and rolled over.
The suspects refused to exit the vehicle initially but after a short time, they surrendered to officers. All three occupants in the vehicle were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
While searching the suspect vehicle officers found approximately 100 grams of methamphetamine, a loaded firearm with the serial number filed off, brass knuckles, a knife and bear spray.

The two passengers in the vehicle were released without charges.

- Unsafe Storage of Firearms
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon
