Winnipeg Police have arrested and charged a 44-year-old male in connection to a home invasion at a Pacific Avenue seniors complex.
Officers responded to the complex around 4:00 pm on March 21, 2020, after receiving multiple calls to the 911 emergency communications centre.
When police arrived they found two residents, a 94-year-old female and an 81-year-old male had been injured after a male suspect had gained entry to the complex.
The suspect roamed throughout the complex trying doors to most of the suites.
The suspect entered the suite of the 94-year-old woman where he assaulted and punched her before stealing various items from the suite.
The suspect then went into the elderly male’s suite. He sprayed the man in the face with bug spray and hit him across the face with a broom handle. Again the suspect stole several items from the victim.
The 94-year-old female refused medical treatment. the 81-year-old male was taken to hospital and treated.
On April 30, 2020, investigators located the suspect and placed him under arrest.
Stacy Patrick Playfair has been charged for his alleged involvement with two counts of Assault with a Weapon, Break and Enter Commit Robbery (x2), Assault, Break and Enter Commit Theft, Fail to Comply Conditions of Release Order
He was detained in custody.
