Suspect in Norway House double stabbling arrested

RCMP in Norway House have arrested a 26-year-old male in connection to two stabbings last week.

At 11:45 pm on Thursday, March 17, 2022, officers were called to a home in the community on Jack River Road for the report of two men with stab wounds. When they arrived they located a 44-year-old and a 24-year-old with serious injuries. The pair were taken to hospital then transferred to Winnipeg for treatment.

Aaron Paupanekis of Norway House Cree Nation was arrested and charged for his alleged involvement with two counts of Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.

He was retained in custody.
