Winnipeg police have arrested a 34-year-old male in connection to a weekend shooting at a home in the 300 block of Bonner Avenue.
Police say that the suspect attended a party as the residence on Bonner Avenue with a friend and left the party early. The friend was involved in an altercation at the party and the suspect returned with a handgun. He allegedly fired several shots towards the home from his vehicle. The stray rounds from the gun also hit a neighbouring home an a parked vehicle.
Officers identified the suspect and executed a search warrant at the mans home on August 8. A number of weapons were seized including a Girsan 9mm Luger handgun, ammunition, and spent shell casings.
The 34-year-old was arrested on August 9 and charged for his alleged involvement with Discharge Firearm with Intent, Pointing a Firearm, Assault with a Firearm and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle.
He was detained in custody.
Police continue to investigate.
