Winnipeg Police have arrested and charged a 19-year-old male in connection to the August 5, 2021, shooting of a 32-year-old male on Selkirk Avenue.
Officers had responded to the shooting around 1:15 am and found the victim suffering extensive injuries. They administered first-aid until paramedics arrived and transported the victim to the hospital in unstable condition.
Police say that the victim and suspect didn’t know each other prior to the shooting.
On October 8, police arrested and charged the suspect who was already in custody at Headingley Correctional Centre.
Harry James Richard has been charged for his alleged involvement with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon, Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition, Discharge a Firearm with Intent, Pointing a Firearm, Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition, Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order and Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized.
He remains in custody.
