Suspect faces charges after firing shotgun round through bedroom door

Winnipeg Police Service responded to a firearm call around 2:30 am on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, in the 500 block of Boyd Avenue.

Police say that a male who was known to the residents of a home knocked on the door asking to come in. He was let inside, went upstairs with one of the occupants and without warning took out a saw-ed-off shotgun from his bag and fired a round through a bedroom door. No one was injured and police were called as the occupants hid in the basement.

Officers located the man inside the home and safely brought him into custody.

A 37-yar-old male is facing firearms related charges for his alleged involvement.
