Winnipeg Police say that a 23-year-old male was allegedly responsible for the shooting of an adult male on Wednesday night, April 8, 2020.
As News 4 told you on Thursday, police responded to reports of a male suffering from a gunshot wound showing up at the doors to Misericordia Health Centre.
The male was treated by paramedics on scene then taken to Health Sciences Centre where he is currently in stable condition.
Patrol officers identified the suspect in the shooting and made an arrest.
Member of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation and learned that the victim and suspect are know to each other.
According to police the suspect drove to a St. James neighbourhood where he got into an argument with the victim and an adult female who were in a second vehicle.
The argument escalated to the point that the suspect allegedly fired a gun into the victims vehicle striking the man and narrowly missing the female passenger. The victim took off in their vehicle while the suspect gave chase and continued to shoot at the victim .
Police say the male and female victims were able to evade the suspect at which point they went to Misericordia.

- Discharge a Restricted Firearm or a Prohibited Firearm with Intent (x2)
- Pointing a Firearm (x2)
- Use of Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence
- Possession of a Weapon- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle
- Transport Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
- Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance
Blandord was detained in custody
