Winnipeg police have charged a 32-year-old male in connection to a shooting at a Portage Avenue bar on May 31, 2022.
Police say that the incident saw one man shot in what is being described as a gang rivalry. The victim who was also armed was charged with firearms-related offences for his alleged involvement after he took himself to hospital with a gunshot wound.
On August 17, 2022, investigators charged 32-year-old Jamie George Guimond for his alleged involvement with Warrant: Aggravated Assault, Pointing a Firearm, Carrying Concealed Weapon, Discharge a Firearm. Guimond was already in custody at Stony Mountain Institution when the charges were laid on an unrelated matter. He remains in custody.
Investigators also identified the third person involved in the incident, a 24-year-old male, but he has since passed away.
