Soda stealing suspect arrested for October assault

Winnipeg Police arrested a 22-year-old male after he allegedly stole two bottles of soda from a convenience store near Magnus Avenue and Aikins Street on Friday, January 11, 2019.

Turns out he was also wanted for aggravated assault on a 56-year-old male that dates back to October of 2018.

On October 10th, around 3:00 am, police found a man suffering from upper body injuries in the 200 block of Selkirk Avenue. The victim was taken to hospital and investigators were able to identify the suspect but were not able to locate him until he decided to steal some pop.

Justin Emile Pelletier is facing charges for his alleged involvement of Aggravated Assault, Theft Under $5,000, Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

He was detained in custody at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
