Man busted with guns after threatening police on social media

A 25-year-old male is facing more than two dozen firearms offences after being arrested during a traffic stop on Tuesday March 26, 2019.

Police say that Sean Andrew Spence had allegedly made posts on social media on Saturday MArch 22, 2019, that were threatening to kill police officers while he was holding a gun outside police headquarters. A Winnipeg Police Officer became aware of the threats and enhanced security measures were put in place around the headquarters building.

Winnipeg Police Tactical Support Unit conducted a high-risk vehicle stop near Dufferin Avenue and McGregor Street taking the suspect and two other people into custody.

Tactical officers recovered a loaded .22 calibre semi-automatic rifle with a 10 round magazine that had had its serial number removed. They also seized a .22 calibre semi-automatic, sawed-off rifle with a loaded, rotary style magazine attached and a sawed-off pump-action shotgun.

Spence is facing charges of Uttering Threats and 27 Firearms Offences.

The two other people in the vehicle, Jewels Robert Alfred CONTOIS, 24 and Raven Freedom Sky WILSON, 18. were each charged with a number of offences for firearms, breaches of court orders, drug trafficking of Meth.
