Winnipeg Police have arrested a 20-year-old male in connection to the killing of a Duffy’s cab driver.
On Thursday March 19, 2020 police responded to a taxi driver in distress after the driver was able to turn on his strobe light after a serious assault on Burrows Avenue.
Emergency crews transported the victim to hospital where he subsequently died.
Police have identified the victim as 44-year-old Bavir Toor from Winnipeg.
Investigators from the Homicide Unit say that they believe the suspect had called the cab and after being picked up he stabbed the driver in a violent attack. The suspect then took off.
Okoth Obeing from Winnipeg has been charged for his alleged involvement with Second Degree Murder and four counts of Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order.
He was detained in custody.
