RCMP have arrested a 25-year-old male from Brokenhead Ojibway First Nation for starting a fire in the community early Monday morning, August 3, 2020.
Police say around 12:14 am they responded to a house fire. When officers arrived the building had smoke billowing out the windows.
The 52-year-old resident was able to escape the fire before police arrived.
The initial investigation indicated the fire had been deliberately set.

The structure suffered extensive damage due to flames, smoke and water.
Police arrested Stevie Fontaine at the scene and laid charges for his alleged involvement of Arson – Disregard Human Life.
Fontaine was detained in custody and scheduled to appear in a Winnipeg court today.
RCMP from Selkirk and the Office of the Fire Commissioner continue to investigate.
