Winnipeg Police have arrested and charged a 44-year-old male in connection to the abduction and sexual assault of a male youth.

Police say that on Saturday, April 9, 2022, a 12-year-old male was waiting at a bus stop on Main Street near the forks when an adult male that he did not know approached and offered him candy. The youth refused but the adult grabbed his arm and forced him to walk to a residence in the 400 block of Stradbrook Avenue.

The victim was given alcohol, verbally threatened and sexually assaulted. He was able to escape when the suspect fell asleep. Police were contacted and the victim was taken to hospital in stable condition.

Paramour Sing Saini was arrested at the residence and charged for his alleged involvement with Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference, Invitation to Sexual Touching, Kidnapping, Mischief Under $5,000, Uttering Threats and Liquor Gaming Control Act- Liquor to a Minor

Saini was detained in custody.
