The 31-year-old driver of a stolen vehicle is in custody after being stopped by police on Ellice Avenue on Sunday night, February 19, 2023.
According to police, the incident began around 10:15 pm when General Patrol officers spotted a stolen vehicle.
“After a short follow, officers successfully stopped the vehicle and arrested the 31-year-old male driver,” said Cst. Claude Chancy in an email to News 4.
More than 10 police vehicles converged on the scene.
The stolen vehicle with Ontario plates ended up on the sidewalk wedged between a building and two light standards at Ellice Avenue and Young Street. One of the police vehicles on the scene had fresh damage to the front end. The driver of the vehicle was quickly taken into custody along with an adult female passenger. The female was eventually released at the scene.
