For the second time in as many years, several first responders and other trained professionals donned superhero outfits and rappelled down the side of Children’s Hospital on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
The event called Suspended Superheroes is the brainchild of Winnipeg’s Voyageur Technical that specializes in access and rescue solutions.
“We’re so thankful for the opportunity to work with the hospital and foundation again – this is the most fun and personally rewarding day of the year,” said Chris Toews, managing director of Voyageur Technical.
Participants included members of the Canadian Armed Forces, RCMP Emergency Response Team, Winnipeg Police Service Tactical Support Team, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service and Voyageur Technical.
“After having the opportunity to experience this event first hand last year and seeing the beaming faces of the children, there was zero chance that we were going to miss out this year,” said Constable Jeff Driedger of the Winnipeg Police Service Tactical Support Team.
Collectively the participants raised more than $30,000.00 for the Children’s Hospital Foundation.
