Suspect can’t get over de-fence!

A 54-year-old male is in custody after he had problems scaling a fence as he fled from police.

Just after midnight on Saturday, May 12, 2018, officers were patrolling in St. Norbert when they saw a vehicle speeding without any lights on.

As police tried to pull the vehicle over it took off. Backup was called and a search found the vehicle about 30 min later in South St. Vital.

As officers were patrolling in the area where the vehicle was found they saw a man run across the street in front of them. The suspect tried to climb a fence to get away from officers but couldn’t. He was taken into custody.
