A Winnipeg Police officer and his K-9 partner are uninjured after a stolen vehicle they were attempting to stop slammed into the front of the cruiser they were in.
It all began around 1:30 am on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, when a man called 911 to report that his car had been stolen. The victim was getting out of his vehicle after parking it in the area of Arlington Street and Sargent Avenue when he was confronted by a male with a handgun who demanded his car keys and cell phone.
The victim turned them over and called the police.
Officers patrolling in the area of Wellington Avenue and Home Street spotted the stolen car and tried to pull it over. The driver tried to take off but drove directly into the K-9 patrol unit. The K-9 vehicle was marked and had its emergency lights engaged.
Police arrested three suspects that were in the vehicle and seized a pellet gun and a can of bear spray.
A 16-year-old female, a 16-year-old male and 21-year-old female, Autumn Bo Antoine from Winnipeg has been charged with Armed Robbery Using a Firearm, Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Weapon, Possess Weapon, Possession of a Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon Contrary to Prohibition Order, Fail to Comply with Probation Order X2.
All three were detained in custody.
