Stolen vehicle crashes, ruptures natural gas line

RCMP are investigating a collision between a stolen pickup truck and natural gas distribution line in Tyndall on Thursday, November 7, 2019.

Police say that around 9:15 pm the truck was travelling north on Road 35 East when it veered through the west side ditch and ploughed into a metal shed housing the gas lines.

Emergency crews had to wait about six hours until they could get near the truck due to safety concerns. Just after 3:30 am Friday morning they were able to approach the vehicle. No One was inside.

The owner of the truck had reported it stolen say police.

Anyone who may have seen the collision is asked to contact RCMP at 204-268-2612.
