Stolen vehicle leads police to three suspects in liquor mart robberies

Just before 2:00 am on Monday, September 24, 2018, Winnipeg Police patrol offices ran the plate of a vehicle in the area of Notre Dame Avenue and St. James Street. The vehicle turned out to be stolen.

Officers followed the suspects at a distance and called in backup including tactical support and a K9.

The suspects abandoned the vehicle in the 300 block of Blake Street but four adults and a youth were arrested and taken into custody.

Three of the suspects were wanted for a series of thefts from liquor marts.

David Ackabee, 21, Manny Rae Chudrick, 19 along with a 16-year-old female were charged with various offences including Possess Goods Obtained by Crime over $5,000. The trio are also facing charges relating to 55 liquor store thefts where more than $28,000 in merchandise was taken.

A 19-year-old female and a 21-year-old female were also charged with Possess Goods Obtained by Crime over $5,000 and were released on a promise to appear.
