Two people face charges after ground and Air patrols track stolen vehicle

Winnipeg Police have arrested a male and a female suspect for their alleged involvement in stealing a vehicle.

On Saturday, October 14, 2017, around 10:00 pm police saw the vehicle speeding around Henderson and Harbison Avenue West.

Officers began to follow the vehicle and learned that the plates on it did not match the vehicle. The suspects continued driving in a dangerous and erratic manner so a decision was made to not pursue the stolen vehicle.

Air-1 was called in to follow and they quickly acquired the vehicle and followed it to the area of WabashaStreet and Horton Avenue were officers on the ground were able to make an arrest of a female and a male.

Police found a machete and another stolen licence plate in the vehicle.


The female has been charged with:

·         Possess of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000
·         Possess of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000 (x2)
·         Possess of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

The male has been charged with:

·         Possess of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000
·         Possess of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000 (x2)
·         Possess of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
·         Flight While Pursed by Peace Officer
·         Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle
·         Drive Without Licence or with Valid Licence

Both suspects were released on a Promise to Appear
