On Wednesday, May 23, 2018, News 4 told you about an armed robbery in the North end in which two males stole a 2013 Toyota Corolla.
Police say a 48-year-old woman was sitting in the car when the suspects approached the vehicle. One of the men was armed with a handgun and demanded the female get out of the vehicle. Both suspects then got into the vehicle and drove off.
A search of the area by police did not locate the car.
On May 24, 2018 patrol officers spotted the vehicle speeding near Portage Avenue and St. James Street. The car continued along Portage then turned off near Ferry Road. A search of the area located a female who matched the description of the driver of the stolen vehicle.
Shelby Dawn Wayward, 24 from Winnipeg has been charged for her alleged involvement with Flight while Pursued by a Peace Officer, Drive Suspended and Possess Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000.
She was detained in custody
